About us

Welcome!
Mark Lindsay brings extensive experience and leadership skills in both business and community service to the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club in Savannah. An original Club Kid born and raised in High Point, NC, he fondly remembers attending the Boys & Girls Club summer camps and playing football and basketball on club teams. “The mentors that truly helped me growing up were the coaches and volunteers I encountered as a Club Kid … that’s where I learned to dream big”.
After graduating from Western Carolina University with a degree in Film, Radio, and Television, Mark followed his dream to Los Angeles and began a successful 35-year career in the entertainment industry. He held senior executive positions at major and independent studios in both Los Angeles and New York, specializing in financing, marketing, and distribution. Mark has been a producing instructor and mentor to aspiring filmmakers and is a frequent lecturer on the business aspects of the entertainment industry at universities across the country. “I think it’s important students be given a real-world view of what opportunities there are for them in the industry. I remind them that your first job with not be your last so be open-minded and try different things.”
Since moving to Savannah, Mark has devoted much of his free time to volunteering for nonprofit organizations such as the United Way of the Coastal Empire, The Salvation Army of Savannah, Scottish Rite of Savannah, and Alee Shriners. He has served as a guest panelist and speaker for numerous nonprofit community-based organizations including HonorBound Foundation for Veterans Assistance, Savannah Film Academy, and the Georgia Department of Education. He presently serves on the Executive Committee of the Greenwich International Film Festival and is the former Chairman of the Child Identification Program for the State of Connecticut Freemasons.
When he’s not working, Mark enjoys playing golf, boating, fishing, and taking walks throughout the parks and squares of Savannah with his wife Donna and dog Ranger.
Our Mission
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Our Vision
To provide a safe welcoming place for youth and their families which builds character, and enables growth & excellence in developing academically, socially, ethically, productive, responsible leaders and citizens.
Our Goal
Our goal is accomplished by providing members with an array of educational, recreational, and social activities in a safe and structured environment during after school hours and throughout the summer.
Youth Programs
We provide our children with developmental activities and services. Our mainstay programming is focused on academic success, sports and fitness, character and leadership training and healthy lifestyles.
Positively Impact the Lives of Young People.
For the past 105 years we at the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club have been providing hope and opportunity to thousands of Savannah children. We are the first chartered Boys & Girls Club in Georgia and our focus has been on enabling all youth to reach their full potential.
Our outcome measures verify our impact: 90% of our members are on grade level in school, 98% of our members graduate high school on time with 90% of those going on to some post secondary educational training, most to college. Plus, our Club kids are far less likely to be involved with the criminal justice system. Unfortunately, we are not reaching enough kids.
We are in the process of increasing the number of kids that we can provide world class youth development opportunities, but we need your help to make this happen.
